Line Identification

GBrakes makes a variety of different lines for several different applications. While our off-road lines are pretty straight forward, street, sport, and bikes with ABS tend to have more complex braking set-ups. There are 5 types of line kits to be familiar with: 2-line, 3-line with T-block, crossover, superbike, and GP-style. GBrakes has engineered and routed lines for maximum effect to achieve the best performance. As a result, new lines may not follow stock routing. To make switching out lines even easier, most line kits come with application-specific instructions. Line Kit Types

2-Line Kit

This kit will run two lines from the master cylinder down to each caliper. The lines at the master cylinder will be installed using a double banjo bolt. The right line will be installed on the master cylinder first, followed by the left. The right and left lines will route behind the forks. A clip to attach the lines to the triple tree will be included in your kit.

3-Line Kit

The kit will run a single line from the master cylinder down to a t-block or to your proportioning valve. From here, it will split into two lines, one to each caliper. The right and left lines will route behind the forks.

GP-Style Line Kit

This is a 3-line kit and will be installed using the same concept. The difference between this setup is the right and left lines will be routed in front of the forks, for that “GP” look. A clip for routing purposes will be included in your kit.

Superbike Line Kit

This is a 2-line kit and will be installed using the same concept. Each line will route behind the forks to the calipers. The lines will be installed at the caliper using a male adapter for a direct thread set up from the 90-degree female fitting.

Crossover Kit

This kit is primarily found as an OEM set on Suzuki and Kawasaki motorcycles. It will run one line down from the master cylinder, then one line across from the right to the left caliper. Both lines will attach at the right caliper using a double banjo bolt.
